come on guy get out there…
Well not a lot to talk about this meeting. 21.3.10
Three cars turned up on the day at Riverside speedway and they were
Craig Phillips, Kelvin Lawson and lee O keefe these guys tried to put on a show for the crowed.
Well to start off the boys were put out to wheel pack and turned into a mud throwing show. Kelvin Lawson took that one out. It was good to watch all them ladies out there in there nice light coloured cloths turn to a nice clay color.
I’m not sure who got what on the day so if any one was there and know please let us know.
Lee got the jump on the first race and slid off into turn one and two, it was slow racing but that was not the guys doing these boys had to really drive there car just to keep them on the track. Phillips was bogged on turn one. And had to be pushed out of the clay build up on the out side of the track. Kelvin lost a lead off his car in same race. Lee O’Keefe took out the first race on the day.
I think the guys in the push trucks did more track time then any of the racecars on the day. But you have to take your hat off to all involved on the day to keep the meeting going.
On one note a little bird told me that Lee O’Keefe might not be out again this season due to motor not playing the game.
I’m sorry to you all about the write up this time round but there wasn’t mush to write about

supersaloon GP night 2
4d Shane Jeffery
18d Allan Finch
48d Nigel Anderton
29c Murray Greig
39c Jarred Taunton
Firstly, a huge thanks to jarred and murray, the 2 christchurch cars
that turned up to race on the night it was much appreciated.
alas we couldnt return the favour with a good size field to race against but
its been a taxing season thus far for the grade and with a couple of key drivers
either racing out of town or with mechanical issues it was going to be a big ask to get numbers
..however…3 stockcars and 2 superstocks turned up to race..so thats what we did.
Lets be honest…there isnt alot to write about,so here are the highlights from my point of view
1st race….murray in his superstock couldnt get the power down on the slippery track
so it meant i could almost keep pace with him for the entire race. nigel in his superstock
had a rite mare in this race, with 18d alan also struggling…Jarred in the 39c stockcar was
up to speed on a foreign track immediately…thats about it for that race!!
2nd race…Murray got the power down this time as did Nigel who must have fixed something before
this race because his car was going alot better, Alan finch was doing ok till he was spun coming
out of turn 4 which ended his race on about lap 3..my car was going really well (almost too well)..
aside from it bottoming out on a really rough track she was fair screaming!Jarred managed to
destroy a perfectly good rear tyre rite at the end of the race, all on his own so that was a
bit of bad luck for his team.
3rd race…thought we’d have a play this time, was expecting jarred to get stuck into me this
race but turns out he broke his shocky mounts or something in the first lap or two, so that was
him out, murray was off like a cut cat as was nigel..im not sure what happened to finchy, he was
on the infield pretty quickly. i done a few laps parking up on the corners to try slow murray
and nigel down, but after a couple of spins and a few dropped clutches the gearbox spat the
dummy…so that was that for me…my first DNF all season!!! the shame of it all!!!
thanks again to the out of town cars
shane

4 of the lads went to Woodford glen on Saturday 6/3/10
884i Lee O’Keefe — 17i Graig Phillips—11d Kelly Campbell & and 4d Shane Jeffrey
The guys wanted to race with a bigger feild of cars & and thay got that allright with 31 stockcars plus 2 superstocks off the back lineing up for the 1st race.11d Kelly got grid 5 with 884i Lee back on 20, Shane on 28 and Graig at the back on 31. It only took till the 2nd lap before kelly 11d was spun into the wall backwards and with his wheel gate hanging off the red came on and he was sent off.
884i Lee was getting court up with spun cars and just could’nt get a good run and get through but ended up 17th over all
17i Graigs car was not on song that night with it missing and farting as it went past but still got up to 24th by the end.
4d Shane looked to me to just be taking his time and getting a feel for the track in this race but still worked his way up to 20th.
This race was quite tame and all so the 1st time Kelly and Graig have raced at the glen and in a big feild of cars
Race 2 had 27 cars starting with 884i Lee off 1. Graig off 3 and Shane behind him on 5 with Kelly back on 16. With the 1st few laps all four of the guys were holding there own with Lee up near the front and Shane not far behind. Graig was on the pace and his car seemed to be going a lot better this time untill he spun off on turn 4 and pulled into the infeild. Im not sure what happened but he put the car on the trailer after this race.
Kelly was hooked up and flying in this race untill lap 5 on turn 4 his accelerater spring broke and the motor was reving its nuts off untill he turned it off and in return ended up braking sum rocker studs and running on 6 cylinders that ended Kellys night too.
Lee drove well for the rest of the race to end up 3rd with Shane just behind him with a 6th placeing. Well done guys
3rd race had 21 starters with Shane starting on 3 and Lee off 15. For the 1st half of the race Shane was in 2nd place & trying hard to take the lead off the chch car. Lee was having a flyer this race & working his way through the feild. Half way through the race a red light came on & Shane was a bit slow to stop so been the nice guy he is moved back behind the leader only to be sent off for moving on a red light { Bad luck Shane as you were flying.. Rules suck ay } From the restart Lee was on fire and ended up working his way up to 2nd place { Well done }
Over all it was good racing with a bit of bad luck for Kelly and Graig as its a fear trip to do only a few laps but thats racing. Lee did well & him & Shane took sum prize money away from the chch boys. Well done guys
Fastest lap times 884i 21.74 4d 21.82 11d 23.13 17i 23.58

Five cars turned up to Dunedin on Saturday 27,02,10 that being;
Shane Jeffery 4d Craig Phillips 17i Kelly Campbell 12d
Nathan Taylor 73d and Mark Taylor 84d
These guys put on a hell of a show for the amount of cars that were there.
Ok off to the first race of the night.
Campbell, Jeffery and Phillips off the front line and the Taylor’s off the back.
Phillips had a good start with Jeffery not far behind, Campbell was left on the start finish line due to him stilling the car and not able to get it going straight away, but did get it together and was off. The first lap was tame that was until Phillips caught up with Campbell and let him know he was there.
Jeffrey took turn 3 and 4 wide and looked like he was going for Campbell but went around the out side of him. Just in time for 84d to take 12d to the wall, right behind 84d was the big brother in 73d taking on 4d.
12d took on 73d and spun him on turn 4 only to end up on the in field himself.
17i, 73d and 4d were having a tussle on 1 and 2 until 12d was on the track again and gave them a hand to sort things out by driving though them. 73d of Nathan Taylor took out the first race.
Race 2 was a reveres grid with the Taylor boys off the front and 4d, 17i and 12d off the back
The Taylor boys were on the brakes until I’m sure they seen 12d pull back because as soon as 12d moved forwards they sure as hell took off. The Taylor boys have an amazing communication between them in the cars. Phillips car must have been on steroids on the night, it was flying, ho drove around Campbell, Jeffery and Nathan Taylor on the first turn. Campbell was also good to watch but when aren’t the Campbell’s. Even though he was having trouble with his car jumping out of gear making things hard for him, still good to watch.
Phillips pushed the 73d car around for a lap that was until Jeffery come down on them and drove though them. Jeffery didn’t stop there he moused down the back straight after 73d and spun him leaving him to spin backwards on turn 3 and 4.
84d of Mark Taylor took out race two.
In the pits after race 2 both Campbell and Phillips were on the trailer due to being so sore to race, Phillips slammed his arm on the roll cage hitting the old funny bone isn’t to funny is it Craig. But I must say the side rail on his car was pretty buggered
Campbell was out with a sore neck.
Both these boys are off to ch-ch next weekend so they want to mend before they bend again.
Race 3 was left with 3 cars to race it was a slow start to this race with the 73d car and Jeffery not moving much and the 84d I don’t know what he was up to sitting up high on turn 1 but I’m sure he did or he got board because he came back down in behind 73d and once they didn’t move he backed up. Jeffery took off like a bill out of a gate and dame near stayed at that speed the whole race. The 73d car slowed down to wait for the 4d car but he managed to spit 73d off every time. There was even a Taylor sandwich that couldn’t hold Jeffery. As he drove straight though them to finish in 1st place.

1st write up ..
Riverside speedway 20,02,10
Well here is a web site for all you metal crushing petrol heads.
We have started this site for all the stockcar people who like the hitting and pushing.
And you will not here about Sprint cars or saloons on this site.
Ok I will start with the riverside speedway meeting on the 20.2.10
Seven cars showed up with the dedicated (double trouble) Dunedin boys Kerry 11D and Kelly 12D Campbell, was also grate to see Casey McEwan 16I back out in his car. Peter Knight was there in the 7D car, Craig Phillips in the 17I Clearways car, Kelvin Lawson 4I in the Baby on the move car. And Andrew Watson 55I in the Evergreen motel car.
Race 1 Started with 11D on pole and along side him was 4I. Turn one and two we saw 4I on the infield and 12D spinning 7D. Was good to see Phillips mix it up with the Campbell boys, Phillips slammed 11d into the wall and was also hot on 12ds tail only to have 55I take him and him self out on the front straight. With race one finished 11d took 1st place CaseyMcEwan 2nd and Kelly Campbell 3rd.
Race 2 Watson 55i made it hard for any one to brake from the pack as he was pushed around turn one only to get tangled up with16i and4i on the infield.
Kelvin Lawson well if he hadn’t spun himself and drove into the drink on turn 4 he would of finished the race. 16i McEwan was in there mixing things up too.
There was talk maybe there was some team tactic going on between the Ds and Is and the double trouble boys were the targets, if this was the case there were two confused drivers as Knight was in the 7dcar and took out 11d and Watson in the 55i car took the McEwan 16i out on the front straight, in the same place as he did to Phillips in the first race. 16i got the 55i car and soon pull off the track due to damage. 17i Craig Phillips brought it home in this race followed by 7d Peter Knight and in 3rd was 55i Andrew Watson.
Race 3 was a slow start with Watson and Knight on the brakes until Kelly Campbell backed up and rams the pack. Peter got the jump on them. Lawson must have been having trouble getting his car around the corners as he was on the infield a lot on the corners.
I’m thinking Watson is going to have a bulls eye on him next meeting with the big hits over the day with the last one being on 7d Peter Knight putting him up on two wheels. 17i Craig Phillips sub stained major damage after Watson and 11d Kerry went up the ass of him and came to rest in the infield. 16i took on 12d taking Campbell right round. 55i took out the last race with 16i in 2nd and 11d in 3rd.
And to round things up I think these boys put on a bloody good show. I hope to see more cars out there and show the public the old ways (full contact) and leave the flag chasing to the other grades.
We all know it takes a lot of time and money to keep these cars up and going but if all the guys help fix the broken there will all ways be cars to race with
